reflection

in this class, I got many knowledges about paragraph such as descriptive, cause and effect, illustration, etc. when I presented my paragraph about descriptive in the class, my friends gave comments all. they said to me that my paragraph is not descriptive but difinition or explanation. after debating, all of my friends agree that my paragraph is incorrect paragraph.hehe... because in the content of paragraph is "ambigu" but for me, it does not matter. I will make new paragraph about correct descriptive paragraph. thanks for my writing lecturer who always support me. 

My reflection

To know the types of  paragraph is depend on the writers’ comprehension, where the writer has to focus and really understand about what is the main idea, content and characteristic of the paragraph that had been analyzed or written. If the writers can explain the paragraph by detail analysis, it will be a good proses  of paragraph analysis. Sometimes, the other readers judge a paragraph only the part of the content. They did not read at the characteristic of the paragraph, in particular is main idea. So it will make controvertion in forum.  The most importantly to know about the types of paragraph is from authors’ purpose. After we know of the purpose of authors, the readers could comprehend the paragraph. Be the best readers must read the paragraph carefully. In order they did not wrong to apparaise a paragraph.

Paragraph

At this time, I would like to convey about a paragraph, what is a paragraph? after I read the text that had been post by my lecturer of about a paragraph. According me, paragraph is a group of sentences that convey an idea. every paragraphs has main idea and others sentences is supporting sentences. the important sentence in a paragraph is topic sentence, because it will develop the main idea to under consideration a topic sentence it. finally the paragraph has closing sentence that called conclusion in the end.
A good paragraph has:
• a topic sentence stating the main point of the paragraph,
• supporting sentences with details and specific
examples as proof of your point,
• logical, coherent thoughts that are developed in order from one sentence to the next, and
• a concluding idea that wraps up the point of the paragraph.
and A good topic sentence:
• informs the reader of the subject that will be discussed in the paragraph,
• asserts the writer’s point of view or attitude,
• intrigues the reader to continue reading,
• creates a sense of action, and
• is not vague, rambling, too narrow or too broad.

There are seven types of paragraph development:
1. Narration paragraph
2. Definition paragraph
3. Comparison
4. Classification Paragraph
5. Explanation Paragraph
6. Description Paragraph
7. Exposition
